Glaucoma is a condition where elevated eye pressure due to fluid buildup can damage the optic nerve, causing blindness. The optic nerve is a vital structure of the eye and transmits visual information to the brain. Beri Eye Care Associates (BECA) is committed to providing care to patients with glaucoma. Depending on the patient's individual risk factors and stage of glaucoma, it is treated with a variety of glaucoma eye drops and laser treatment. At BECA, a glaucoma office visit can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the nature of your glaucoma.
